the ease of desire (2018)

Products are marketed as desirable, complete, and self-contained. The extractive processes, labor, and supply chains required to deliver consumer objects are conversely invisible by design; the objects appear falsely pristine. This project aims to re-associate related phenonmena artificially separated in commercial media. The samples below use frames from the documentary "The Biggest Factory in the World" to recreate a Victoria's Secret commercial and a large dataset of skin abnormalities to recreate scenes of makeup application.
